No matter where in the world you go, flowers are constantly part of every occasion. For some people, nothing beats the power of saying something important with flowers. In Auckland and all throughout New Zealand, Eastridge Flowers have always been ready and armed with enough flower bouquets and settings to give that extra color in every person’s special event.
Eastridge Flowers was established between the years 1999 and 2000. 10 years later, they are still one of the most sought after florists in the area. The company offers a convenient way of ordering and purchasing flowers online. It does not matter whether it’s for birthdays, funerals and other special occasions; the company makes thousands of deliver every month to happy customers.
Being able to take the stress of having to look and order the perfect flower arrangement and having enough time to actually get them fresh for an event truly makes Eastridge Flowers stand out. However, their online ranking and popularity before were not exactly prominent. Problem was their competition is getting more hits and this of course is not a good thing for businesses trying to find opportunities online. So, we decided to offer our services and started by diving into their website’s source page to see what’s holding them back and try to fix it for them!
Before SEO Link Building Intervention: The Findings and Suggestions
Title: We noticed that the title was a bit weak in terms of keywords so we suggested that they change it and put in more words that they actually want to be ranked in.
Keyword: We found that they already had a set of good working keywords. However, we felt that they still needed more specific ones. We advised them to research on keywords and load them up as the ones they want to be specifically ranked for.
Description: We advised our client to make their description brief so that they won’t get truncated by Google when they exceed 160 characters. We also suggested they load it up with keywords.
Two of the keywords we placed in Market Samurai’s rank tracker, which are “Funeral Florist” and “Wedding Florist,” were among the keywords that Eastridge Flowers did not rank in. So we started working doing SEO for them on these two keywords and some of their other keywords.

After SEO Link Building Intervention: The Results
As of March 14, 2011, these two keywords were nowhere near the 1000 rank of Google. But with the game plan that we have created for SEO and link building, these two keywords are now ranked no. 4 and no. 3 as June 9, 2011. And if you ask any SEO expert, that is a huge and highly positive leap!

After a couple of months, Eastridge Flowers have rapidly gained ranking on Google. Regular link building has helped their keyword rankings increase. With the help of Google Analytics, we were able to monitor the site activities. The SEO competition feature of the Market Samurai on the other hand helped us watch the competition closely.
In particular, Eastridge Flowers is currently at #2 in the Google organic listing for the keyword “funeral florist” as of July 11, 2011. Here’s the screen shot:
